Wanted: Prince Edward Island

We need any stamps from the first issue of Prince Edward Island in Very Fine mint with original gum or without (with certificates preferred). Due to the very coarse Perf 9 perforations on these stamps, they seldom come with all perforations intact. To rate as Very Fine all perforations must be present and in good shape. Stamps with badly pulled or damaged perforations are of very little interest and consequently bring only a fraction of catalogue value. We need sound, undamaged copies with very well balanced margins on all sides. We are also extremely interested in buying used copies in the same condition.

BLOCKS of all values are very rare and all are of interest in Fine or better, both mint and used condition. Multiples in less than fine condition may be of interest. Let us know what you have.

COVERS, to or from Prince Edward Island up to 1900 are of interest. Condition on these varies tremendously, and with the condition, the value. Choice covers demand very high prices, while tattered covers sell for less. Where the rates and routings are particularly rare or interesting, poor condition can often be acceptable as possibly, the only way a particular cover would be available.

PLEASE SEND YOUR OFFERS WITH CRISP PHOTOCOPIES so we may assess the centering and make you a fair and accurate offer (on black background so perfs show).

CERTIFICATES OF AUTHENTICITY from the Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Foundation (VGG), the Philatelic Foundation of New York (PF), or either of the Royal Philatelic Society of London (RPS) or the British Philatelic Society (BPA) are of great help when selling your stamps. We are always willing to pay a little more when the stamps or covers are accompanied by one of these. If you have such please include a photocopy of it with your offers.
